Christian Guevara

High-Performance Director

Windsor Tennis Club's High-Performance Director, Christian Guevara, believes in promoting an environment where players are highly-focused and are able to grow as leaders.

Christian played for Virginia Tech University (Division 1), Blacksburg, Virginia from 2005 to 2008. After his successful college career, he reached a career-high of 941 in the World ATP Singles Rankings and was ranked as high as 624 in doubles. While in his professional career, he had the chance to be a hitting partner to ATP World #1 and 14-time Grand Slam Champion Novak Djokovic, former world #3 Grigor Dimitrov, former world #4 Sebastian Grosjean, former world #7 Richard Gasquet, former world #14 Ivo Karlovic, former world #33 Denis Istomin, and former world #1 and three-time Grand Slam Champion Jennifer Capriati among many others!

Noel Ortiz
Director | Adult Programming

Noel Ortiz is a PTR certified coach with over 20 years of experience coaching tennis. Noel has trained children of all ages as well as adults in group settings and private lessons and has developed current prominent high school and college players. He has worked as a Lead Coach for NJTL of Trenton and an Assistant Coach for Trenton Catholic Academy. As a Lead Coach, Noel has organized and directed tournaments including in-house adult tournaments, youth player tournaments at all levels, Capital Cup Tournament, Trenton Short Court Tournaments, and JTT. Over the years, Noel developed players for the US Open Net Generation Experience, created and implemented summer programs, worked with the YMCA of Trenton to provide opportunities for under-resourced youth in the Trenton area, and partnered with Christian Seix Academy, the Boys and Girls Club and Arc where he worked with youth with special needs. Noel has also been recognized as the NJTL of Trenton Coach of the Year for three consecutive years in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

 

Coach Noel believes he provides opportunities for youth and adults to learn the game of tennis, hone skills and techniques through skill-based and game-playing activities, and help pave the way for the future of tennis.

Elvis Mutisya

Coach

Elvis Mutisya is an International Tennis Federation certified coach. He has been involved in junior development programs throughout his tennis career that included coaching junior tennis initiative programs in Kenya, in Rafael Nadal’s Academy in Spain, Inspiration Tennis Academy in Florida, and Johah Kriek’s Tennis Academy in Florida. He has gained valuable experience from his former roles as a tennis coach and takes a keen interest in training junior development and 10 & under.

Alfred Kandakai Jr.

Originally from Monrovia, Liberia (West Africa), Alfred Kandakai Jr. started playing tennis at the age of 5 years old. The love and passion he has for the game of tennis made his father put time into developing him at an incredibly early age, which later made him the player and coach he is today. Alfred played at the high school and currently plays at the college level. He strongly believes that “ as a student of the game you must be willing to work as hard as you can because that motivates coaches to go beyond their limits to help you succeed”. Aside from playing, Alfred truly enjoys teaching the sport and excels in his role at Windsor Tennis Club.

  • Exhibition match play with Tood Martin (2015)
